Our Mission

keeping clothes in circulation

Swap Shop Suffolk C.I.C. was founded with a clear goal: to provide an accessible, affordable, and sustainable alternative to fast fashion for the people of Lowestoft and surrounding areas.

Every year, millions of tonnes of clothing end up in landfill, even though much of it is still perfectly wearable. We believe that by creating a community-focused hub for swapping and repair, we can significantly reduce this waste while making quality clothing available to everyone, regardless of their budget.

As a Community Interest Company, any profits we make are reinvested back into the project to expand our reach, run more workshops, and support local social initiatives.

Sustainability

Reducing environmental impact by extending the lifecycle of garments.

Community

Building a supportive network that shares resources and skills.

Accessibility

Ensuring everyone can access quality clothing regardless of financial status.

What We Do

four ways we make a difference

01
Weekly Swap Shop

A weekly pop-up in Lowestoft where the community can donate, exchange, or purchase quality clothing, shoes and accessories at little to no cost — fostering community involvement and a circular economy. Drop by on Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays to find your next favourite piece.

02
Repair Skills & Collaborations

We share practical repair skills through workshops and community sessions so people can mend garments at home. Items beyond repair are passed to local artists, charities and small businesses for creative repurposing — nothing goes to waste.

03
Awareness & Education

We run sustainability talks, workshops and share educational content on social media — offering sustainable living advice, repair skills and community tips. Knowledge is power in the fight against fast fashion.

04
Local Partnerships

We collaborate with local businesses and organisations to provide free clothing, repair skills and garment care advice to people who are homeless, returning to work, or on low incomes. Supporting our most vulnerable community members is at the heart of everything we do.
